Living on the other side of the planet

Finally I'm settled in Salta, Argentina ... Actually, I wanted to post some pictures earlier, but, it is so easy for me to concentrate on my studies here, that new ideas just keep coming, and I couldn't stop even for a moment. The truth is that I took some pictures of the local Carnival, but, unfortunately the camera broke before I copied them to the computer (it is not exactly the truth, but good enough as not to make of myself a total idiot). So instead I'm posting some pictures from Salta la linda (it is not a joke, this is the slogan of the city). Sorry for the quality ... I took the pictures with my PDA.

Salta's congress

View from the Congress' Plaza

As usual, a bird pays some respect to a local statesman

My "country club" (La Sociedad Espanola). Here I go to swim.

The smallest chapel in Salta ...

... And the building above it. The red car is a Taxi.

And this is the Taxi stop ... just in case you can't read :-)

And to finish this chapter, this is the view from the Loft's window. One of the evergreen mountains that surround Salta can be seen in the background.

That's it folks. Now the only question is who comes to visit me first :-) My guess - it will be Ofer.

BTW, have you noticed from the pictures that it is summer here? It is so nice that the globe has two hemispheres :-)

I do indeed plan to be the first! I have a flight to Argentina in a couple of weeks and I'll try to swing by Salta but i'm not sure I'll succeed. The week after that is the Seder and I want to spend it with my sister in Holland - so that is really what will dictate how much time I have and whether or not I can make it to Salta.

Fre, there are a few flights to Salta from Bs.As every day by Aerolineas Argentina (and I think there is another company now). Just remember to buy the tickets while in Argentina if you don't want to pay the same price in dollars ...
