The shower head

I don’t know if you remember that Seinfeld episode with the shower head (www.youtube.com) If you don’t remember this one then here’s the summary from www.tv.com:

“The shower heads in Jerry's building are being replaced with a new low-flow model; Newman finds a source for black market shower heads.”

They end up buying the “Commando 450” from the black market guy even though he warns them that it’s used only in circuses to wash the elephants.

In true Kramer form they buy the shower head, install it and let the mayhem begin.

So I was a little nervous when I stepped in to the shower here in Santiago – I think it’s even bigger than the Commando 450... Must be the Commando 560 or something:

Santiago Revisited

After five years I am back where we started our trip in South America – Santiago de Chile. It’s like I never left – I know exactly where to go and where everything is. I visited Santiago many times during that trip and coming back now feels very familiar.

Back when we first got here we went to the “Israeli” place in the city – it was, after all, our first day in a strange land and so we found ourselves checking into the Hostal Indiana. If you don’t remember it, here are a couple of pictures from back then:

The very “distinctive” yard:

And my personal favorite ;)

I was walking around the center of town and I decided to drop by the hostel and check what’s going on. I found out that it’s being closed down by the owner but everything else was as I remembered it – the yard, the rooms, even the owner’s little dogs:

I’ll be meeting JFK in a couple of days… feels like old times...

I Am-Sterdam Too

Almost a year ago JFK posted some nice stuff for us about Amsterdam (he did promise to post something about Berlin as well but apparently never got to it. Hint hint).
Following in his footsteps (as I always have) I am now also in Amsterdam, after having spent a couple of days in Milan and the Seder with my sister.
Amsterdam is every bit as interesting and fun as JFK said – I’ll try to show you some more of what he meant.

Being in The Netherlands, Amsterdam has its share of Dutch delights in various shapes and sizes.

Strangely enough though, JFK “forgot to mention” one of these delights… I wonder why...

I’m no expert on the issue but they must be using a lot of this stuff because I found some interesting signs throughout the city.

So now we know where sissy boys come from.

No tourists I say! Bad tourists! Go Away!

Sugar consultants... Sugar consultants?!?!

Now that’s a sign fit for Amsterdam.

All this free air reminds me of “Space Balls” for some reason.

I have quite a few pictures from Amsterdam now - I’ll do the show and tell when I come back (after going to Chile and Argentina).

Hag Sameach

Hi guys

Just wanted to say Hag Sameach to everyone. I'll be back in Israel in about three weeks and I think that'll be just about time to start burning some wood.

I think I'll have some pics for you soon and I'll probably have some more once I visit our long lost friend in Argentina.

Pesach Kasher (or not) to everyone...
